How we calculate ratings?

Promobile ratings are based on several important factors, and this is how we calculate the ratings for each mobile.

We start with the processor performance: the better the processor, the higher the rating. Next, we test the camera, examine user reviews, and assess both gaming and camera performance. After that, we evaluate the battery performance by conducting a drain and charging test. Finally, we compare the phone’s price with other devices in the same price range. This helps us determine whether the mobile offers good value for money. If other phones in the same price range provide better features and performance, we give the phone a lower rating.

Check each rating below to better understand our rating system.

Processor

Processor Rating Criteria

We evaluate processor performance by assessing its strength and multitasking capabilities. We compare the processor's performance with other similarly priced mobile devices to determine its relative power. Ultimately, we assign a rating based on a combination of performance and value for money, ensuring a fair and accurate assessment.

Meaning of 1-10 rating

If a processor receives a rating of 1/10 to 5/10, it means the processor is underpowered, and such phones are generally best avoided unless they are budget-friendly devices designed mainly for purposes like long battery backup or light secondary use. A rating of 6/10 indicates an average processor, while 7/10 means it is good but still has room for improvement. An 8/10 rating is considered excellent, and processors rated 9/10 or 10/10 are top-tier, delivering outstanding performance.

Battery

Battery Rating Criteria

Battery ratings are determined by considering three key factors: battery backup, charging speed, and price. We compare the battery performance and charging time of a device to other similarly priced phones to arrive at a rating. bigger batteries and power-efficient processors receive higher ratings.

Meaning of 1-10 rating

Battery ratings are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 indicates very poor performance and 10 represents excellent performance. Ratings between 1/10 and 5/10 usually reflect a weak battery that provides only a few hours of backup. A 6/10 rating is considered below average, 7/10 is good, 8/10 is decent, while 9/10 and 10/10 indicate excellent performance, meaning both charging speed and battery backup are strong.

Camera

Camera Rating Criteria

Camera performance is rated on a scale of 1 to 10, taking into account factors such as image quality, video quality, and overall value for money. It is considered the second most important factor after the processor. To evaluate camera performance, we test by capturing photos, reviewing video results, and analyzing user feedback.

Meaning of 1-10 rating

Just like processor and battery, a camera rating of 1/10 to 5/10 indicates poor performance, while 6/10 is somewhat acceptable if the phone’s other features are strong. A 7/10 rating means the camera is good but still has room for improvement, 8/10 reflects excellent performance and fair value for money, and 9/10 or 10/10 represent outstanding camera quality.

Gaming

Gaming Rating Criteria

We measure gaming performance based on factors including gaming benchmarks, gamer reviews, and our own tests. We assess factors such as game load times, frame rate stability, battery drain, lag, and overall optimization. We then compare the phone's gaming performance to similarly priced devices to determine its value for money.

Meaning of 1-10 rating

A gaming rating of 1/10 to 5/10 means the phone is suitable only for casual gaming, while 6/10 indicates performance just slightly above casual. A 7/10 rating is considered decent, 8/10 reflects a good and consistent gaming experience, and 9/10 or 10/10 represent excellent gaming performance, usually seen in high-end phones built for heavy gaming.

Final & Overall

Overall Rating Criteria

Our final rating is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the device's processor, camera, battery, and gaming performance, as well as its overall value for money.

Meaning of 1-10 rating

The final and most important score is the overall rating. A phone rated between 1/10 and 5/10 is usually overpriced, lacks good performance, or is simply not recommended. A 6/10 rating means the device has some good features but still leaves noticeable gaps. A 7/10 is considered average and can still be a good buy if it fits your personal preference, such as liking the design even if the camera is weak. An 8/10 indicates a good and recommended phone, while 9/10 represents an excellent device that also offers great value for money. A perfect 10/10 is extremely rare and given only to phones that excel in nearly every aspect.

Our ratings are based on real value, not brand favoritism. In some cases, brands like Samsung and Apple may receive a slight boost (+1 point) because of their strong resale value and long-term brand trust, but only when the phone also performs well in the core areas we evaluate. We never favor a brand unfairly; our top priority is to provide unbiased and accurate information for our visitors.

It’s also important to note that budget-friendly and entry-level phones can achieve high ratings, not because they match flagship-level performance, but because they deliver excellent value for their price. A phone doesn’t have to be the most powerful to score well, it simply needs to balance performance, design, battery, and features in a way that makes sense for its price tag.

Battery backup time shown on our site represents the minimum expected backup during heavy to moderate use, such as gaming, social media, video recording, and multitasking. For example, if we list 12 hours backup, it means you’ll get around 12 hours with mixed usage (heavy + moderate).  Actual results will vary: intensive gaming may bring it down to 6–8 hours, while light use like calling, WhatsApp, or casual scrolling can extend it to 15–20 hours or even a full day.

See how a 5000 mAh battery performs on average in different usage scenarios.
