Tips to find mobile for PUBG
PUBG Mobile has gained immense popularity worldwide and is enjoyed by players on both mobile devices and computers. However, due to its high storage and processing requirements, many low-end mobile devices struggle to provide a smooth gaming experience. This often leads to frustrating issues such as low FPS, lag, and overheating. We are going to address these common problems faced by players on low-end devices and provide helpful tips and solutions. But first, take a look at the FPS (Frames Per Second) difference below to get an idea of the performance variation across different devices.
FPS : Frames Per Second, Frames produced within 1 second or Frames appears within 1 sec, Higher the frames Smoother the video/game.
When it comes to gaming, the Frames Per Second (FPS) can significantly impact the overall gaming experience. As illustrated in the comparison between 20 FPS and 30 FPS videos, the video with 30 FPS appears smoother than the one with 20 FPS. The reason behind this is simple: FPS refers to the number of frames displayed on the screen per second. A higher FPS results in a smoother video. To ensure a smoother gaming experience, it is important to increase the number of FPS.
Understanding the impact of FPS on gaming experience brings us back to the main topic: finding the best mobile device for playing PUBG Mobile. While several factors influence the gaming experience, it’s crucial to consider a few important aspects when purchasing a mobile device for gaming. Check below listed key factors!
Processor – Its Important so Choose wisely
One key factor is the processor. The processor plays a vital role in processing data and directly affects FPS and gaming performance. Opting for a device with a good processor ensures higher FPS and a better gaming experience. The question arise here that how someone be able to find which processor is to choose and which processor is to avoid? well if you’re not a tech guy and need assistance regarding processor then don’t worry we got you covered. To determine whether a processor is suitable for gaming, check the (1) processor’s architecture.
To assist in selecting a suitable processor, create a list of mobile devices within your budget. For example, if your budget is 50,000 PKR, you could make a list of potential options such as Poco M4 Pro, Realme 9, Infinix Note 12, and Vivo Y15c. (Please note that the prices of these mentioned devices might be different and I’m using these devices only for a reference here). To evaluate their processors, check their architecture. Check below for better understanding!
- Poco M4 Pro – MediaTek Helio G96 (12 nanometers)
- Realme 9 – Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nanometers)
- Infinix Note 12 – MediaTek Helio G88 (12 nanometers)
- Vivo Y15c – Mediatek Helio P35 (12 nanometers)
Just like computers the term Generation used to determine the how latest the processor is, for example Core i5 6th generation. Higher generation means fast processor. But in mobile devices, the term “Nanometer Architecture or nm” is used to indicate the architecture of a processor. Smaller nm architecture signifies a more advanced processor. So all you need to do is just shortlist the processor with smaller architecture (processor with 6nm architecture is better than processor based on 12nm architecture). For example Realme 9 from the above list has smaller nm architecture so you can shortlist it. and wait we’re not done yet as we need to measure processor from other angles too.
Once you have identified the generation of the processor, the next step is to assess its performance by comparing benchmark scores. To facilitate this process, we have included benchmark scores for each device on our website, conveniently located under the specification tab. By referring to these scores, you can easily determine how fast a particular processor performs. It’s worth noting that sometimes an older processor may outperform a newer one in terms of benchmark scores. Therefore, it is crucial to select the latest processor with a benchmark score that is higher or equal to that of other options. Allow me to illustrate this with an example.
Consider the Realme 9 from the above list, which comes with the processor built on a 6-nanometer architecture. On the other hand, the Poco M4 Pro features an older processor based on a 12-nanometer architecture. Upon comparing their benchmark scores, we discover that the Poco M4 Pro’s processor significantly outperforms the one found in the Realme 9 (328,176 vs. 268,692), despite the Realme 9 having a more recent processor. Hence, we realize that a smaller nanometer architecture does not always guarantee higher performance. It serves as just one factor in measuring a processor’s overall performance. (It’s more like comparing Computer’s core i3 6th generation with core i7 3rd generation, its true that core i3 comes with higher gen but still core i7 3rd gen will win. do you know why?) However, if two processors exhibit similar benchmark scores or only a marginal difference, opting for the processor with the smaller nanometer architecture can be a suitable choice.
- Choose processor with smaller nanometer (nm). only when the benchmark scores are good when comparing processors
- Compare benchmark and consider processor with higher scores
- If the benchmark scores of two processors is equal or there’s only a little difference then choose the processor with smaller nm
- Compromise on nm architecture not on benchmark score
(Benchmark is used to meassure how fast is processor, how quick it can process data or how fast it can execute instructions, higher benchmark scores means faster performance)
RAM and ROM
RAM plays a crucial role in the realm of gaming phones and should not be overlooked. Acting as a data queue, RAM aids in rendering graphics swiftly and reducing lag. The significance of higher RAM capacity lies in the fact that it accommodates a larger volume of data and necessary files within the queue. Consequently, the processor is relieved of the need to access specific folders each time data is required. If the data is already stored in the RAM, the processor can swiftly retrieve the necessary information from the queue. This can be likened to having all the ingredients ready in your kitchen for cooking, obviating the need to visit the market each time an ingredient is needed.
However, it’s important to note that a higher RAM capacity does not automatically guarantee exceptional performance. (Merely having everything in the kitchen does not ensure the creation of delicious dishes). It is imperative to strike a harmonious balance between RAM and the processor. Consider this analogy: an outdated or sluggish processor like the Mediatek Helio P22 cannot deliver satisfactory performance, even when paired with 12GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, renowned as one of the fastest processors globally, cannot provide optimal performance if combined with a meager 2GB of RAM. Therefore, it is crucial to establish a solid combination of RAM and processor to unlock the full potential of a gaming phone.
To ensure a good gaming experience, it is helpful to refer to the recommended RAM specifications outlined below:
- For normal gaming: 4 GB or higher RAM, with a minimum Antutu score of 180k – 300k.
- For medium gaming: 6 GB or higher RAM, with a minimum Antutu score of 300k – 450k.
- For high-end gaming: 8GB+ RAM, with an Antutu score of 450k or higher.
Please note that these recommendations are only for android devices and by adhering to these recommended RAM requirements, you can enhance your gaming performance and enjoy a seamless gaming experience on your chosen device.
Screen Size and Type
When it comes to purchasing a gaming phone, screen size is a factor that demands careful consideration. A larger screen size offers significant advantages for gamers. Firstly, it enables players to spot enemies more easily, as the larger display showcases game elements in a more prominent manner. This enhanced visibility can be instrumental in gaining a competitive edge. Moreover, a larger screen facilitates movement during gameplay, providing gamers with extra space to maneuver their fingers and thumbs comfortably. This aspect is particularly crucial for individuals who employ the 4 or 5 fingers claw technique, as a larger screen ensures a more secure grip and optimal control. Therefore, it is advisable to select a mobile device with a screen size of at least 6 inches to accommodate these gaming requirements.
In addition to screen size, the screen type is another essential consideration. We recommend opting for an AMOLED screen. Compared to IPS and TFT displays, AMOLED screens offer distinct advantages in terms of color reproduction and texture. The utilization of AMOLED technology results in more vibrant and vivid colors, enhancing the overall visual experience while gaming. Additionally, AMOLED screens tend to consume less battery power compared to their counterparts, allowing for extended usage without compromising performance. This means that you can enjoy extended gaming sessions without constantly worrying about running out of battery life. Thus, when selecting a gaming phone, prioritize devices equipped with AMOLED screens to benefit from their superior color quality, enhanced texture, and battery efficiency.
- Always prioritize the latest processor for optimal performance.
- If an older processor outperforms the latest one in terms of benchmark scores, it can still be a viable option.
- Don’t solely rely on RAM; instead, aim for a balanced combination of RAM and processor power.
- Whenever possible, choose a device with a larger screen size.
- If available, opt for an AMOLED screen, as it offers superior color reproduction and consumes less battery power.
- Pro tip: When comparing processors, consider choosing Snapdragon processors over Mediatek processors if other specifications, such as benchmark scores, are similar.
By keeping these points in mind, you can make an informed decision when selecting a gaming phone that meets your performance and display preferences. Happy Gaming
