Looking to know how the Oppo Reno 12 Pro performs in real-world use? Here’s our honest, simple, and detailed review for you.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, offering a crisp resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels (~394 PPI). The display is super smooth with its 120Hz refresh rate and also very bright with HDR10+ support and peak brightness of 1200 nits. Even under direct sunlight, the screen remains clear and readable, which is a big plus.
For protection, Oppo has gone a step ahead by adding Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. It’s safe to say this phone feels durable and strong enough for everyday use.
Under the hood, this unit packs the Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset (built on 4nm), while the U.S. version will get the more powerful Dimensity 9200+. In our testing, the 7300 Energy variant scored an impressive 711,402 on Antutu. By the way, the standard Oppo Reno 12 also carries the same chipset.
You get either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM (UFS 3.1), plus it supports microSD cards too for further expansion.

The rear camera setup includes a triple combo: 50 MP wide lens + 50 MP telephoto lens + 8 MP ultrawide lens. Video options go up to 4K at 30fps and as low as 720p at 960fps for slow motion. The front selfie camera is 50 MP and supports 4K@30fps and 1080p@30fps video as well. We’re still finalizing our full camera test, but you can expect a follow-up soon.
It features an under-display optical fingerprint sensor that worked fast and reliably throughout our testing—no delays at all. The battery is 5000 mAh, which may feel slightly underwhelming as 6000+ mAh is becoming common now, but the 80W fast charging does make up for it by charging phone quickly.

Now, let’s talk about performance.
Battery Performance:
Charging: It charged the battery from 0 – 59% in just 30 minutes and 0 – 100% in 58 minutes. That’s quite fast and useful for daily use.
Backup: In our mixed usage test including gaming, watching videos, browsing, using the camera, and scrolling reels, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro gave us a backup of 7 hours and 5 minutes. During 1 hour of gaming, it used 14% battery, which is reasonable. Overall, it lasted over 7 hours on one charge.
Gaming Performance: PUBG, 60FPS Graphics Setting: Smooth-Extreme
The phone offered a smooth 60FPS experience with accurate gyroscope response and no visible delays.
That said, it’s more for casual gaming and might not meet expectations of hardcore gamers. It handles games well, but clearly, it’s not built for long gaming sessions.
Pros 👍
Stylish and premium design, Decent battery backup, Very fast charging
Cons 👎
Not ideal for high-performance gaming, Screen resolution could be higher, Overall gaming optimization feels limited
Currently, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro hasn’t been officially released in Pakistan, and the price hasn’t been confirmed either. So, it’s tough to say if the phone offers good value for money just yet. We managed to get our hands on one unit just for review purposes, and that’s how we could bring this early look for you.
To sum up, if you’re someone who values design, display quality, reliable performance, fast charging, and a decent camera setup, this phone is worth considering. But if your focus is gaming, it’s better to look at other options. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for our camera review update!
