Realme 15 Pro Review: PUBG Gaming Test, Charging Speed, and Antutu Performance

Realme 15 Pro, the number series model, was among the most awaited mobiles in Pakistan, and now it’s finally here. Users are concerned about its performance, including PUBG performance, battery backup, charging speed, and overall performance. So here’s the complete performance review of the Realme 15 Pro. While value for money is a different angle and it’s your choice to buy it or not, this review will definitely show you the maximum details about its performance. Before we dive in, let’s see the on-paper specifications of the Realme 15 Pro;

So, the on-paper specs of the Realme 15 Pro are solid, but here is the truth. Starting from the display, no doubt it’s really impressive. It’s a great choice if you need a phone with a curved display. It has a 6.8-inch curved OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1800 nits (HBM), and a huge 6500 nits peak brightness. Without any doubt, outdoor visibility and scrolling are impressive. Media consumption is also good, thanks to HDR10+ support in this phone. The overall display experience is great. The chin is thin, and on top, there’s a punch-hole camera that doesn’t really block the view. Moreover, the display is awesome unless you’re someone who doesn’t like curved displays, then you might not love it.

Talking about its performance, this phone comes with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. This is a decent processor and can handle demanding tasks easily. It scored 1,002,792 on Antutu V11. For comparison, some processors that reach similar scores include Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 1,045,549 on Antutu version 10, and Dimensity 8200 Ultimate with 890,791 points on Antutu version 10. So, this processor is definitely good in terms of performance. The raw performance of this processor is great, no lag or anything that makes us think it’s struggling was seen.

Let’s talk about gaming performance. This phone runs PUBG at 90 FPS out of the box with maximum graphics support of UltraHDR – HDR. The gaming experience was great throughout the game—no lag or frame drops were seen, even during hot drops. This phone provides consistent frames. The huge battery is a plus for gamers, as you can play for longer periods without worrying about the battery. Only 7% battery dropped during a 40-minute PUBG session on Smooth – Extreme+ graphics. If you increase the graphics to higher settings like HDR or UltraHDR, then the battery drop might be slightly higher. One thing we noticed is that while playing at 60 FPS, frame drops occurred occasionally frames dropped somewhere between 48–55 FPS. So, just a recommendation: play at 90 FPS for a smoother experience without worrying about battery drain. The 7000mAh battery is huge. Below are some phones that offer 90 FPS in PUBG.

Since we’re talking about the battery, let’s discuss it a little more. The Realme 15 Pro has a 7000mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. Recently, we’ve seen an increase in battery capacities after the arrival of silicon carbon technology. 6000–7000mAh batteries are now becoming common or maybe the new standard for mobile phones. Anyway, Realme did a great job on battery and charging speed. This phone charged from 0–100% in 91 minutes. While this is not the fastest, it’s still decent considering the massive 7000mAh battery. For battery backup, expect 2–3 days of backup on casual use and 12–13 hours on heavy use like gaming and photography. Overall, great battery backup and charging speed.

Although this phone is great in terms of performance, it’s not top-notch when it comes to value for money. Of course, there are some alternatives that provide better value than this phone. Here’s what we liked about this phone and what we didn’t like or think could’ve been improved. Also, some alternatives are listed below.

Samsung A56
Samsung A56
Tecno Camon 30 Premier
Camon 30 Premier
Vivo V60 5G
Vivo V60 5G

The final verdict about this phone is that it’s solid and provides excellent performance in all departments, especially battery capacity, charging speed, display, and gaming. But it’s also true that the phone seems a little overpriced. Someone looking for pure value for money should look for better alternatives. Other than that, if you’re into this phone, then just go for it. You won’t regret the performance, though you’ll just spend a bit of extra money, nothing else to worry about.
