INFINIX GT 20 PRO PUBG TEST
Infinix GT 20 Pro: PUBG Mobile Performance Test
The Infinix GT 20 Pro boasts impressive specs on paper, claiming to be a powerful gaming phone. But how does it perform in real-world gaming scenarios? We put the GT 20 Pro through its paces with PUBG Mobile to see how it handles the popular battle royale title. Lets dive in and see how does it performs.
Cooling Performance:
The phone comes with an optional cooling fan, which significantly reduces temperatures during gameplay. Without the fan, the device does heat up more due to the powerful processor. However, even with some heat, the phone maintains consistent performance. For optimal performance, especially during extended gaming sessions, we recommend using the cooling fan.
Processor and Benchmark Scores:
The GT 20 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor, a powerful option for the price range. This is further backed up by a solid AnTuTu benchmark score of 936,645. Additionally, a dedicated display gaming chip helps boost FPS for a smoother experience.
PUBG Mobile Gameplay:
We tested the phone for PUBG Mobile, focusing on FPS, temperature, graphics settings, and battery drain. The phone can handle “Smooth + Extreme Plus” graphics settings out of the box, delivering a smooth 90 FPS experience. Rumors suggest an upcoming Infinix update that unlocks 120 FPS gameplay, which we’ll confirm once tested. Additionally, HDR graphics are also playable on the GT 20 Pro. Also we noticed a 19% battery drop in 1 hour of gaming. The battery drop may vary depending on the temperature and graphics settings.
Temperature and Frame Rate:
As mentioned earlier, the phone heats up slightly without the cooling fan. However, this doesn’t affect FPS, as we observed a consistent 90 FPS throughout gameplay with and without the fan. There might be minor frame drops during hotdrops, but no lag issues were encountered.
Verdict:
The Infinix GT 20 Pro is a solid gaming phone overall. It delivers impressive performance with consistent FPS and no lag. If you’re looking for a phone specifically for gaming, the GT 20 Pro is definitely worth considering, especially with the additional cooling fan for extended sessions.
