How to Check if Your Mobile Phone is PTA Approved in Pakistan

Before buying a new or used smartphone, it is essential to verify whether it is PTA approved. Checking the approval status protects you from purchasing a device that may stop working on Pakistani mobile networks.

This is especially important when buying a used phone or bringing a device from abroad. Below is a complete step by step guide to help you check your phone’s PTA status.

Step 1: Find Your Phone’s IMEI Number

The IMEI number is required to check the PTA status of your device.

Method 1: Using the Dial Pad (Works on Most Phones)

  1. Open your phone’s dial pad.
  2. Type: *#06#
  3. Your IMEI number will appear on the screen.

If your phone supports dual SIM, you will see two IMEI numbers. You can check either one, but both should ideally show the same PTA status.

Method 2: From Phone Settings

On Android

Go to: Settings → About Phone → Status → IMEI Information

On iPhone

Go to: Settings → General → About → IMEI
