Samsung S26 Ultra from Samsung and iPhone 17 Pro Max from Apple are two high-end phones. Both are equipped with powerful processors, excellent cameras, and durable materials.

But if we compare both phones, what do you think will win? Keep in mind that both devices are premium and expensive, so we are not going to talk about value for money here. That is a totally separate topic and would need a completely new article to properly explain the value for money aspect.

Final verdict:

Looking at both phones, performance-wise there is no major difference between them. However, in some cases, the iPhone 17 Pro Max slightly outperforms the Samsung S26 Ultra, especially in gaming.

Both phones have identical screen sizes. The iPhone 17 Pro Max has a slight edge when it comes to peak brightness, but it is important to mention that Samsung offers a better media consumption experience compared to the iPhone. Additionally, the Samsung is slightly thinner and a few grams lighter than the iPhone, despite being larger in size.

During the charging test, the iPhone 17 Pro Max took 79 minutes to charge from 0 to 100% using a 44W charging brick. On the other hand, the Samsung S26 Ultra took only 47 minutes to fully charge using a 60W charger.

In the drain test, the iPhone 17 Pro Max delivered around one extra hour of usage. The Samsung S26 Ultra provided 9 hours and 6 minutes of battery backup, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max delivered 9 hours and 49 minutes. Both phones were tested under the same usage pattern, including web browsing, YouTube, reels, gaming, AnTuTu score tests, stress tests, and videography.

If we conclude, Samsung is slightly better in terms of raw performance. It is lighter, thinner, and offers faster charging compared to the iPhone. However, its design is almost identical to the previous generation, so if you buy it, it might be hard for others to tell whether it is the older Samsung S25 Ultra or the latest S26 Ultra.

On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro Max features a complete design revamp, especially in the camera module, and it is easy to recognize it as the latest model. Apart from that, there are no other major differences (other than mentioned above).
